We at The Rake have long been fans of the youth and verve brought to bespoke tailoring by the duo of Thom Whiddett and Luke Sweeney. Now, the pair have a ready-to-wear collection to broaden their offering

The range of jackets and suits are well made, with floating canvasses and hand detailing. But more importantly, they express the Thom Sweeney aesthetic of classic tailoring suited to the modern man.

There are two cuts, for example: a lean, flattering line with a roped and structured shoulder; and a soft, casual version that suits more relaxed dressing. The basket-weave wool blazer is a perfect example of the latter – a sartorial classic updated with a versatile fabric and unstructured make.

The colours too, are unexpected yet tasteful. A greyed brown is used for a DB suit; a burnt orange twill introduces just enough colour to cotton trousers.

The collection is exclusively available on Mr Porter.
