Anderson & Sheppard and The Rake for Bryan Ferry

Co-hosted by Anderson & Sheppard, in honour of Bryan Ferry, The Rake Party took place on 11 September at No. 17 Clifford Street — Anderson & Sheppard’s new premises — and proved to be a charming evening of wit, excellent tailoring and impeccable company, all lubricated by (more than) generous splashings of Pol Roger Cuvée de Réserve Pure Brut. “Bryan Ferry, in every single regard, embodies the very ethos of The Rake and the founding principles on which it was created,” says Wei Koh, this magazine’s Founder and Group Editorial Director.

The esteemed guests included: the restaurant and television critic A. A. Gill; interior designer Nicky Haslam; tailoring bluebloods Julien de Luca and Luca and Chiara Rubinacci; entrepreneur Guy Pelly; musician and TV host Jools Holland; the head of Sotheby’s International Realty France, Alexander Kraft; and master shoemaker George Glasgow Sr., of George Cleverley.

Bryan’s wife Amanda and his son Isaac were also present to celebrate his being on the front cover of our September 2012 issue. The ever-suave face of rock came sharply dressed in Anderson & Sheppard (what else?) and deftly handled the spotlight as the star of the party with charm and grace.

Wei Koh summed up the evening thus: “It was our incredible pleasure to collaborate with Anderson & Sheppard to host this party for Bryan Ferry, and The Rake would like to offer a heartfelt thank-you to all those who graced this elegant evening with us. We are looking forward very much to seeing everyone again at the next one.”
