A good read: The Rake Lapo Elkann edition
The Rake issue 25 featuring Lapo Elkann is out on the stands now. It’s one of our best issues to date (admittedly, all our issues are fantastic) but because we’re huge perfectionists, we get better with each book. A couple of highlights: we get in touch with New York’s checkered history (sartorially speaking), we tackle one of the most contentious sartorial garments to date- the fur coat (written by yours truly), James Medd delves into the incredible excess of the Brunei royal family and obviously Lapo, our cover star. Editor’s Picks from The Rake Issue 25
While New York (notably Brooklyn) is well-known for its hipsters, therein lies a colony of dandies who dress to impress even more than their fellow denizens of the Big Apple — and impress they surely do. These compelling shots were taken by photographer and filmmaker Rose Callahan, whose personal project ‘Dandy Portraits’ (www.dandyportraits.blogspot.com) is, in our opinion, a joy to peruse. But don’t take our word for it — check them out for yourself. Pun intended.
